a summer, in pictures

Last Sunday evening, we both wore long sleeves to church, further increasing our awareness that summer is on its way out. And oh, what a summer it’s been! We only ever take pictures on our phones, so from my Blackberry archives, here’s a peek at our summer:

We’ve spent time in nature:

Hidden Falls Park, St. Paul, June

Jon & his dad, Boundary Waters, July

Jon in a tree, Haeg Park, July

We ate delicious summer foods:

TONS of watermelon

chicken, pasta salad, cantaloupe, corn on the cob

We celebrated my birthday:

circus roses are my favorite (26 weeks)

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention our current obsession, Lost Cities, the game Jon got me for my birthday. We basically play it from the moment he walks in the door after work until it’s time for bed. Which is great, because we needed something to fill the void left by the closing of the Summer Olympics, another summer highlight.

And, of course, we grew Jack (a team effort, really):

22 weeks

24 weeks

27 weeks: third trimester, here we come!

Of course, we’ve also spent time with friends and family, worked diligently, and worshiped alongside our community. We are so grateful for this summer to rest, relax, and enjoy before this new season of life (and autumn) begins.
